Chamomilla recutita extract Germa Chamomile *Certified Organic
Source: France
Main Properties: Anti-inflammatory, Immuno-modulating, Stimulates fibroblasts/promotes wound healing/Cicatricing properties, Anti-oxidant, Anti-bacterial/Antimicrobial, Anti-fungal, Repairs and protects against ultra violet radiation damage, Anti- pruiritic (itch)

German chamomile has noted anti-inflammatory effects. Preliminary research suggests it can inhibit the enzymes cyclooxygenase and lipoxygenase, which reduces the production of prostaglandins and leukotrienes. Studies also show that alpha-bisabolol has antibacterial and antifungal activity. Alpha-bisabolol has also been shown to shorten the healing time of skin burns.

Calendula officinalis extract
Source: France
Main Properties: Anti-inflammatory, Immuno-modulating, Stimulates fibroblasts/promotes wound healing/Cicatricing properties, Anti-oxidant, Anti-bacterial/Anti-microbial, Anti-fungal, Anti-pruiritic (itch)

Calendula help fissured and injured skin. Extracts from Calendula blossoms are bacteriostatic and suppress both inflammation and leucocyte infiltration.
These anti-inflammatory effects are produced by triterpenoids. Through their stimulating effect on metabolism or glycoproteins, nucleoproteins and collagen, calendula extracts help stimulate skin regeneration and epithelialization, thus improving wound healing.
It markedly stimulates physiological regeneration and epithelization due to intensive metabolism of Glycoprotein, Nucleoproteins and Collagen Proteins during the regenerative period in the tissue.

Hordeum Vulgare (Barley) β-Glucan Concentrate
Source:Canada
Main properties: Anti-inflammatory, Immuno-modulating, Stimulates fibroblasts/promotes wound healing/Cicatricing properties, Activates Macrophage cells (cells of Langerhan), Repairs and protects against ultra violet radiation damage, Anti -pruiritic (itch)

Barley β-1,3-D-glucan is a polysaccharide that consists of specifically arranged glucose molecules. This ingredient activates macrophage cells, thus promoting a more powerful immune system. Macrophages are the immune cells that recognize, engulf, and destroy cells, organisms and substances that don't belong to the body (bacteria; viruses; fungi; dead, mutated or tumour cells etc.) The Langerhans cells (skin macrophages) found in the epidermal layer of the skin are key components in your skin's immune system. These cells are responsible for protecting skin from foreign elements, as well as promoting skin renewal and repairing the damage caused by environmental elements. The wound healing ability of β-glucan has been firmly established. Studies indicate that β-Glucan treated wounds have an accelerated formation of new tissue growth.

Argania Spinosa (Argan Oil)
Source: Morocco
Main Properties: Anti-inflammatory, Immuno-modulating, Stimulates fibroblasts/promotes wound healing/Cicatricing properties, Protects and restores epidermal water/lipid barrier, Anti-oxidant

Argan Oil contains up to 80% unsaturated fatty acids mainly Oleic acid 45% and Linoleic acid 35%. Fatty acids play an important role in the production of prostiglandins in the human cell. They are important building blocks of this intracellular hormone. Within the cell system, prostiglandin regulates the permeability and barrier function of the cell membrane. Prostaglandins participate in many body's functions, including immune, inflammatory process as well as blood clotting. Prostaglandins 1 (from linoleic acid) and 3 (from alpha linolenic acid) have similarly effects which are stimulating circulation (vaso-dilatation, reducing blood clot.), strengthening the body's natural defences, and suppressing inflammation.

Due to high levels of tocopherols (vitamin E) and saponins, Argan oil helps to restore the skin's water lipid layer and it also cools and soothes inflammation. Its anti-oxidant properties contribute to the neutralisation of free radicals.

The pytosterols in Argan oil are unique in their combination. There is no other known oil in the world with a comparable composition, containing the rare D-7 stigmasterol. D-7 Stigmasterol is highly effective in the treatment of skin diseases, would care and burns and compromised tissue.

Hippophae Rhamnoids Oil (Sea buckthorn)
Source:Russia
Main Properties: Anti-inflammatory, Immuno-modulating, Anti–pruiritic (itch), Protects and restores epidermal water/lipid barrier, Stimulates fibroblasts/promotes wound healing/Cicatricing properties, Cell membrane stabilization

Seabuckthorn berry oil is packed with carotenoids, tocopherols, rare fatty acids and phytosterols, giving it synergistic power to protect cell membranes and enhance cell regeneration.
Seakbuckthorn seed oil increased micro-circulation by increasing both the number of capillaries and their volume. This helps skin cell proliferation, which takes place in case of any sort of tissue damage. Also normal cell turnover is thus helped, resulting in skin structure maintenance. Seabuckthorn seed oil increased the speed of regeneration of damaged epidermal cells in vivo.
A remarkable anti-inflammatory effect was shown for seabuckthorn seed oil in vivo, possibly contributing to a general recovery-enhancing effect.

Rosa Canina - Rose Hip Seed Oil
Source: Chile
Main Properties: Anti-inflammatory, Immuno-modulating, Stimulates fibroblasts/promotes wound healing/Cicatricing properties, Protects and restores epidermal water/lipid barrier, Anti-oxidant,

It seems that one of the richest sources available today of Vitamin C is Rose Hips. It reportedly has 60 times more vitamin C than citrus fruit. Vitamin C is related to bioflavonoids and it is most vital for them to be used together. Natural vitamin C and flavonoids are combined in nature. Rose Hips are rich in the bioflavonoids and in Vitamin C. The bioflavonoids are vital to build and strengthen body tissues and are especially important in the building and maintaining of a good blood vascular system to include, preventing and healing of fragile capillaries.
The cicatrizing action of Rosehip Oil on the skin is due to it's content of Trans-Retinoic Acid in a natural skin-friendly state as part of a complex system of unsaturated fatty acids. Research done at the University of Concepcion (Chile) has shown that Rosehip seed oil is an active product in tissue regeneration. This condition is due to the high content of the polyunsaturated fatty acids linoleic and linolenic in the oil composition. Both fatty acids, known as essential fatty acids, are very important nutrients in the biosynthesis of prostaglandins.

Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract
Source: United States
Main Properties: Anti-inflammatory, Immuno-modulating, Stimulates fibroblasts/promotes wound healing/Cicatricing properties, Protects and restores epidermal water/lipid barrier, Anti-bacterial/Anti-microbial, Anti-fungal, Anti–pruiritic (itch)

The constituents of aloe have anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, anti-tumour, anti-allergic and immuno-stimulatory properties. Aloe is shown to increase collagen and elastin formation, which aids in wound healing and protects against damage from ultraviolet rays. Aloe is known to inhibit pain, the carboxypeptidase and salicylate components of aloe gel can inhibit bradykinin, a pain-producing agent. The magnesium lactate component can inhibit histamine, which may reduce itching . The component C-glucosyl chromone appears to reduce topical inflammation. Aloe gel might inhibit the synthesis of thromboxane A2, which is a potent vasoconstrictor. By inhibiting thromboxane A2, aloe gel is thought to increase microcirculation and prevent ischemia in the wound area, which may speed the healing of burns and frostbite. Aloe gel also seems to have antibacterial and antifungal properties.

Arctium lappa L. (Burdock) Root extract
Source: Canada
Main Properties: Anti-inflammatory, Immuno-modulating, Anti-bacterial/Antimicrobial, Anti-fungal, Anti-viral, Anti-neoplastic, Anti-mutagenic, Anti-tumoral

Burdock contains polyacetylenes that have demonstrated anti-microbial activity. Several studies have also suggested an anti-inflammatory effect of unknown compounds in burdock root or seeds, including an ability to inhibit the potent inflammation-causing chemical platelet activating factor. Antioxidants such as burdock may protect body cells from damage caused by oxidation, In vitro studies have shown the polyacetylene component to have antibacterial and fungi-static properties. The lignan and sesquiterpene extracts have been shown to inhibit platelet activating factor (PAF) in vitro. The tannin extract has induced macrophage response. It also has antibacterial and antifungal properties. The active antibacterial compound is identified as lactone.

Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf oil
Source:Australia
Main Properties: Anti-inflammatory, Immuno-modulating, Stimulates fibroblasts/promotes wound healing/Cicatricing properties, Anti-bacterial/Antimicrobial, Anti -pruiritic (itch)

Tea tree oil contains more than 100 monoterpenoid, sesquiterpenoid, and alcohol compounds. Up to 90% is made up of terpinen-4-ol, 1,8-cineole, alpha-terpineol, terpinolene, and alpha- and gamma-terpinene. The primary constituent terpinen-4-ol is active against numerous pathogenic bacteria and fungi but seems to spare normal skin flora. The constituents, alpha-terpineol and linalool, may also contribute to its antimicrobial activity. Additional evidence suggests tea tree oil may reduce histamine-induced skin inflammation caused by invading organisms. Tea tree oil applied to histamine-induced inflammation of the skin can decrease mean weal volume.

Soya Sterols
Source: United States
Main Function: Anti-inflammatory, Immuno-modulating, Protects and restores epidermal water/lipid barrier

Soya sterols are obtained from the edible soybean oil, including stigmasterol, sitosterol, stigmatanol, ergostanol, brassicasterol. Research indicates that these sterols impart anti-inflammatory effects as well as skin moisturization capabilities. Soya sterols also act as a stabilizer and consistency modifier.

Vitamins A, C, E Liposomes
Source: United States
Main Function: Anti-oxidant, Repairs and protects against ultra violet radiation damage

The vitamin liposomes help to protect lipid membranes from free radical attack.
Vitamins A and E will help to scavenge free radicals responsible for lipid perioxidation.
Vitamin C works to help regenerate tocopherol. All three vitamins are supplied in their ester form. In the skin, esterases present will hydrolyze the esters down to the active vitamins which will then play their protective role in the lipid membranes found in the epidermis. Vitamins A,C and E protect and repair skin compromised from UV radiation.
